Andy has been studying photography since she bought her first Pentax in 1987.  She graduated from Eckerd College of St. Petersburg, FL in 1995 with a BA in Visual Arts and from Morris College of Journalism of Sussex, England in 1998 with an diploma in Travel Writing and Photography.  She spent time at the Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, NM in 1993 studying the techniques of Ansel Adams under one of his most esteemed apprentices. 

Since moving to Steamboat Springs in 1998, Andy has published her photographs in many travel and adaptive (disability) sports magazines, and was recently featured as a photographer in the NYC section of Schmap, the 2011 Cat Fancy Calendar, the Best of 2010 Photography Anthology by the Boulevard of Photographers, and Steamboat Magazine.

Her experience includes snow and water sports, baby portraits, family portraits, weddings, events and festivals, travel, and still life - interiors, food, and architecture.  Her philosophy of photography is balance: between light, color, composition, and imagery; and ever present goal is to capture that single glorious moment in time.

Andy's blog Andy's Idea Factory hosts some instructional photography writing and one of her educational posts on Point-and-Shoot Tips has been reprinted in the Urban Ecology Photo Club April 2010 newsletter in Milwaukee, WI.
